Last Thursday!

This is the last thursday for actual work on the product. Tomorrow the seniors are coming to room 101 to practice their presentations and get ready for graduation! The three weeks has gone by unbelievably fast! Even though my project is wrapping up, I would like to reflect quickly. The process has taught me many lessons that I can apply to a real life such as when time is in a crunch who is really responsible, and who are the people I can rely on. Schedules are a hard thing to coordinate when the other people are just as booked as you are if not more. I have learned that sometimes having more than one backup plan is extremely smart!

3rd Monday

Today I finished the choruses to the songs that I needed to complete. Shanelle Silas gave me a great portion of her time to write two of the choruses on tracks: The Road and Angels. Each song has come out very well in my opinion and I am very happy with the way the tape has come together. There are less tracks than I originally proposed but each track has its own message that relates back to the theme of the tape. 

Friday 2

Today I wrapped up recording! Now I have switched my main focus to mixing the tracks and getting them ready for online distribution. And i also have to focus on my presentation video which I realized needs to be done by next thursday which is a great time frame to get the editing done! Reece Fong and I went to go take a few shots for the album cover art. they will be developed over the weekend and ready to be edited on monday!

Today was very successful. I managed to get 5 songs done today which leaves me with two more to complete tomorrow. I will be putting together the album artwork next week along with wrapping up my presentation.

Its Friday

Today was a shorter day for me as i wrapped up the last mixdown. i have successfully written first verses to 3 of the songs and will be ready to start recording on monday! I'm super excited now that the technical proccess is done. I am going to try to feature other artists on some of the songs to add a layer of depth but we will see how the responsibility goes.

Seconds

Today I started mixing down all of my instruments to mono files which ill allow me to master each instrument layer individually. I also started a new beat with a harp sound that Noah Gavrich showed me earlier. I think the beat is moving in the right direction and aim to finish the beat by the end of tomorrow! I plan to come in early tomorrow morning to get a fresh start and to give me some extra time to mixdown the last 4 beats. Today has been another success in the studio!

Day 1

Today I began my project officially. I realized today that i need to set some goals for myself in order to finish the project with top quality work and on time. I planned that by next monday by the latest I need to have all my verses ready to be recorded. Today I started soloing all of my tracks to be rendered into pro tools for mastering.

Presentations

I think what makes a great presentation is confidence. I remember seeing some of my favorite artists at concerts and thinking about how charismatic they were. After doing a few small preformances earlier this year, I was able to feel the rush of preforming infront a large amount of people. The feeling i sunlike anything else and can be so powerful with just the way you move, act, and what you say. For my presentation I will be showing a music video that will be a compilation of clips that we will record whilst in  the studio working. The video's intention is to show the process of making a full mixtape from scratch which is what my overall goal is.
